ABS-CBN Daytime Shows Gain Newfound Success

ABS-CBN continues to remain the most-watched television station in the Philippines in the first four months of 2016 based on data released from its trusted ratings provider, Kantar Media. While it is obvious that more Filipinos enjoy watching the network's sleuth of primetime shows, the newfound success of its daytime shows has become a big surprise for the local television industry at the start of 2016.
The romantic comedy daytime drama series Be My Lady topbilled by real-life couple Daniel Matsunaga and Erich Gonzales, collectively known as "DanRich" by their fans, continues to become a consistent top-rater in its timeslot and has even reached its all-time high rating of 20.8% on May 2, 2016 and eventually became the third most-watched show at that time. With its ongoing rating success, the show has been extended with some of the scenes slated to be shot in Singapore in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, as the next chapter in the story of twins Sara and Kara begins to roll and unfold, Doble Kara continues to beat its rival counterparts since the beginning of the new year and has also reached its own all-time high rating of 19.3%. On the other hand, "Tubig at Langis" continues to entertain more Filipino viewers during their siesta time as the controversial drama series begins to enjoy ratings success as well beating its own counterparts.

And let's not forget It's Showtime which has been consistently gaining high ratings up to 20% since the launch of its new segments which particularly include the intriguinly enjoyable guessing game Trabahula and the return of Philippine television's first amateur singing talent search Tawag ng Tanghalan last January. The ongoing dominance of ABS-CBN's popular noontime show along with its engaging daytime dramas has brought the network back to the top of the daytime pyramid and will continue to bring more of what these shows can provide to its televiewers with the expected return of Star Circle Kid Quest and the June launch of its newest drama series Born For You.
