5 Things Filipino Poppers Can Expect From Toycon 2016

For 15 years, the Philippine Hobbies, Toys and Collectibles Convention which is collectively known as the ToyCon has been a showcase of the evolving culture of many young Filipinos until today. But ToyCon 2016 will be different from all the previous conventions as it is slated to become not only the biggest yet, but also a culmination of years of fan entertainment in the Philippines.


Through the convention's partnership with Pop Life Entertainment, this year's ToyCon will become the biggest celebration of everything associated with pop culture such as toys, games, movies, cosplay, anime and collectibles as it brings the some of the world's biggest and finest brands in entertainment and in gaming as well. But, there is more than what the biggest pop weekend event to hit June can offer. Here are five things that Filipino poppers can expect from Toycon 2016:

1. Not The Real Stan Lee

Marvel Comics creator Stan Lee will not grace this year's Toycon. Instead, gracing the occasion will be the finest private collection of everything about the famous comic book legend through the Stan Lee Excelsior! Exhibit. 2. CosFan X

One of the biggest international cosplay competitions in the world will be staging in the Philippines for the first time as cosplayers will vie not only to become the champion of the said event, but also for a slot in the international stage which will be held in Thailand.

3. Dean Cain, Mario Maurer and Hodor

You can't have the biggest pop culture event in the Philippines without the presence of some of the finest celebrities that will grace the occasion. These include Thai teen sensation Mario Maurer, ex-Superman Dean Cain, and Kristian Nairn who is known as the late Hodor in HBO's hit fantasy action drama series Game of Thrones. And there will be more than what you can expect.

4. Encantadia 2016

GMA Network has already announced a few months ago or so the impending return of the hit fantasy action drama series Encantadia which is slated to air on July 2016. Fans can meet and greet with the cast of the 2016 remake, especially the new four guardians.

5. Voltes V Mania

I don't know if GMA Network would ever air a remastered version of the popular 1979 mecha anime, but you can get your own personal Voltes V robot just by getting any of the exclusive packages being offered if you want to go to Toycon 2016.
