Call Centers Make Little Rome More Progressive

Lipa City, a first-class city located in the province of Batangas, may be known by many as the "Little Rome of the Philippines" because of its wonderful churches and beautiful sceneries that can captivate those who visit there. But in the past few years, the little Rome has slowly and steadily become a more progressive city than ever before. And believe it or not, the secret to its progress is none other than the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry.

Thousands of people from different parts of the country, more particularly nearby areas and even from Metro Manila, come to Lipa as call centers offer their own sleuth of highly-paid and permanent jobs. As of now, there are ten call center companies operating in the city with over 5,000 employees working. They have become a big boost to the city's economy, supporting the growth of real estate and retail sectors thriving in the city which is evidenced by the presence of large shopping malls such as SM and Robinsons. No wonder it is considered as one of the top ten Next Wave cities, making the city to become one of the alternative BPO hubs in the Philippines aside from Manila and Cebu.

So, what is next for the future call center hub? Well, as long as call centers like Teletech, Alorica and The Results Companies continue to look for skilled young professionals that will become new additions to their workforce and train them to become future leaders of the industry, it would seem that my hometown of Lipa for 28 years will be a progressive first-class city to be reckoned with in the coming years.
