25 Years of Chronicling The Story of the Filipino

MMK 25th Anniversary

"Maalaala Mo Kaya" has been a part of every Filipino family or household every single week of the day since its inception in 1991 and is known as one of the longest-running programs in Philippine television and considered as the longest-running drama anthology in Asia today. Every episode in MMK through the years is filled with stories that chronicle the struggles and different experiences of Filipinos of different generations and from all walks of life, bringing laughter and tears that binds Filipino viewers wherever they are in the world.

2016 is slated to become the year of the drama anthology because the said year marks the show's 25th year anniversary. To mark its silver anniversary, ABS-CBN launched the show's year-long celebration not only to thank millions of viewers who have been tuning in to the show for more than two decades, but also to pay tribute to those who have been part of the show's success which included the letter senders behind every story featured in MMK. And what better way to kick off the year-long celebration than to gather these letter senders and the stars giving live to these stories on the Philippines' longest-running musical variety show ASAP which was held last May 29.

ASAP's special tribute to MMK's 25 years also paved way for the launch of the show's commemorative album featuring the songs that captured the hearts of viewers which will be available soon in record stores and online. Also featured in the said tribute is the newly-relaunched MMK website (mmk.abs-cbn.com) where viewers can reminisce the narratives, teachings and personalities featured in the show through watching past MMK episodes from 1991, sending life stories through a letter or video upload, and even posting life lines on various online platforms which will include some of the most memorable lines from various episodes.

MMK indeed is the first in the Philippines that truly chronicles the story of the Filipino for the past 25 years and it will continue to showcase more stories that will give us life lessons, inspiration and hope for the coming years that can make an impact on every Filipino's lives wherever they are and whatever they do. So, don't miss every episode of "Maalaala Mo Kaya" every Saturday night on ABS-CBN channel 2 and ABS-CBN HD for Skycable, Destiny Cable and Sky Direct subscribers.
