Two years ago, Cherry Mobile introduced its first line of Windows-powered smartphones to Filipino consumers, making it the first homegrown mobile phone brand in the country to do so. Now, its Alpha line of engaging Windows mobile devices continues with the launch of its flagship smartphone for 2016, the Cherry Mobile Alpha Prime 5.
The Cherry Mobile Alpha Prime 5 is by far the most affordable Windows smartphone in the Philippines today with a 5-inch high-definition display, 8 megapixel and 2 megapixel rear and front cameras, and 4G LTE connectivity. Under the hood, it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 quad core processor coupled with Adreno 304 graphics and 1 GB of RAM. Now it may be powered by the latest Windows 10 OS, but remember that not all Windows 10 smartphones have a revolutionary Continuum feature where they can transform a smartphone into a full-pledged PC through a suite of accessories. Sadly, the Alpha Prime 5 does not have that feature.
Anyway, here are the specs of the Cherry Mobile Alpha Prime 5.
- Windows 10 Mobile
- 1.1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 quad core processor
- Adreno 304 graphics
- 5-inch HD IPS capacitive multitouch display
- 1 GB of RAM
- 8 GB of internal storage
- Expandable memory up to 32 GB via microSD card
- 8 megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash
- 2 megapixel front camera
- WiFi/Bluetooth/GPS/A-GPS

The Cherry Mobile Alpha Prime 5 is available in all Cherry Mobile stores and retailers nationwide for only Php3,999.00. For those who want to have a Cherry Mobile Alpha smartphone that can function as a pocket PC, then you'll just have to wait for the brand's official announcement.
