TrubeBytes: One Last Heap of Summer Newsbits

On June 13, 2016 right after the celebration of Philippine independence day, millions of elementary and high school students will go back to their respective classes for the start of the new school year, with some of them entering a new era in the history of education in the Philippines as the first batch of senior high school students which would be the complete implementation of the government's K-12 program. But, before the end of summer for these young minds, let me share with you one last heap of newsbits that would make your last days of summer well-worth with these news bites.


Huawei P9 and P9 Plus

First up, the Huawei P9 series has been officially launched in the Philippines and is expected to become physically available in Huawei stores nationwide within this week. You can avail of any of your favorite Huawei P9 smartphone starting at Php12,490 for the P9 Lite. Meanwhile, the P9 Plus will be available for only Php29,990 while the P9 is priced at Php23,990. ABS-CBN TV Plus

ABS-CBN TV Plus, the first commercially-released digital television service in the Philippines, has clinched two bronze medals for its product innovation and for being the first of its kind in our local shores at the 3rd annual Asia Pacific Stevie Awards. The biggest innovation in Philippine television today has been recognized in two categories, namely Best in Product Innovation and Best in Branded Development. ABS-CBN Corporation, the leading media and entertainment company in the country which is behind the innovative black box, will receive these awards on May 27, 2016 at the Westin Hotel in Sydney, Australia.

Filipino independent film Ma'Rosa will officially become a mainstream movie as it hits local theaters next month. One of the official entries in the recently concluded Sinag Maynila International Film Festival has earned a long standing ovation from the crowd at the Cannes Film Festival and made a historic achievement in Philippine cinema when veteran actress Jaclyn Jose surprisingly won Best Actress for her outstanding role in the said movie that broke the hearts of some of the festival's judges.

Finally, Square Enix has officially announced ahead of the upcoming 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) a remastered version of Final Fantasy XII for Sony's PlayStation 4. Dubbed as Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, the remastered version will be based on the game's international zodiac age system with improved character models, auto-saving, shorter load times, enhanced turbo mode for faster play, better cutscenes, and re-recorded music with the option to choose between that and its original soundtrack.
