Lipa City is known as the Little Rome of the Philippines because of its splurge of churches and other religious institutions within the city. On the other hand, it is also one of the premiere alternative BPO hubs in Southern Luzon due to the growing call center workforce coming from not just the city, but also in nearby places as well. Now, it seems that the ongoing advent of restaurants would make the city as the next food haven brewing in the province of Batangas.
Let's take a look at what happened during the course of 2016 so far. Metro South Events Zone, which became operational late last year, was a welcome development in the city's commercial skyline and continues to be enjoyed by tourists and motorists that have suited their gastronomical tastes. Many newly-opened restaurants including Fourth Steaks and Kebabs and Loidz Channel Live have enjoyed moderate success since they started months ago. And then, there are the splurge of food outlets within the confines of the city's large shopping malls and commercial developments.
The ongoing progress of the city would attract more investments from different parts of the country, more particularly those who want to take their own service and solutions to the city anew. For example, residents of Lipa City will soon get a taste of Indonesian cuisine as Sendok and Garpu is set to open at SM City Lipa in the coming weeks. The entry of one of the world's most vibrant cuisines in the city is a testament to the city's road to becoming the new gastronomic destination in the region.
I think this is something different from the recent developments that the city has made through the years including the ongoing advent of residential developments, but it is good and surprising to know that Lipa is on the road to its own success prior to its upcoming anniversary. Speaking of anniversary, I would like to share with you in the coming days why residents of the city like myself are celebrating its foundation day on June. Hopefully you will understand that this is best for the city's history and interests as well.
