Huawei Mobile Philippines recently released one of its flagship smartphones for 2016, the Huawei GR5. But to boost the local market's awareness of the Chinese tech behemoth, Huawei has been holding a variety of events and promotions aimed at showcasing its sleuth of mobile devices to potential consumers. And the most recent of them is the GR5 Great Selfie Raid, which kicked off in Metro Manila a few weeks ago.
MYX VJ Sunny Kim roamed the hallways of SM Megamall and SM City North EDSA and took selfies with surprised mall-goers using her Huawei GR5. But the raid officially began when Kim challenged interesting parties to unlock the phone using the phone's fingerprint technology, where those who succeeded can take home a Huawei GR5 of their own.
The GR5 features a 360-degree fingerprint sensor that utilizes advanced touch technology and built-in special filters enhancing photos taken using its 5 megapixel front and 13 megapixel rear cameras with f/2.0 aperture lens. The phone also comes with a 5.5-inch HD IPS display, 3000 mAh long-lasting battery, and Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon octa core processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM. It is available for only Php10,490 and can be availed in Huawei concept stores, kiosks and authorized dealers nationwide.
The GR5 Great Selfie Raid is still ongoing in various provinces outside the Metro, and it is set to reach Davao next month and then Cebu on September. This will allow more people to see firsthand what the GR5 is all about, and eventually have the opportunity to win one of their own. Well, that's Huawei for you - always bringing its technology closer to Filipinos.
